An accountability court has fixed the hearing of three corruption cases against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family for September 13.
Rawalpindi, Sep 8 : An accountability court has fixed the hearing of three corruption cases against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family for September 13.
According to the Daily Times, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Deputy Prosecutor, General Zulfiqar Ahmad Bhutta, requested Judge Khalid Mehmood to fix the hearing on September 10, when the former premier and his family are expected to return to Pakistan after spending seven years in exile.
Bhutta said the Sharifs would be produced before the court on the same day, and added that the NAB chairman is authorised to order the arrest of those people whose cases have been referred to the court under Section 24-C of the NAB Ordinance.
He said the NAB Chairman could even issue arrest warrants for the accused during the trial.
Judge Mehmood, however, announced that the court would hear the three cases - the Hudabiya Paper Mills, the Ittefaq Foundry and the Raiwind Estate.
