Evening college students will cast their votes for the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) and college unions polls from 4.00 p.m. today.
New Delhi, Sept. 7 : Evening college students will cast their votes for the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) and college unions' polls from 4.00 p.m. today.
The casting of votes by the students will be held till 7.00 p.m.The election in the morning colleges ended at 11:30 a.m., amid tight security. About 85,000 students will decide the fate of their candidates after casting their votes at 54 colleges across the Capital.
Nine control rooms have been set up at several sites to keep eye on activities during the polling. Besides, 750 electronic voting machines have been installed at the various centres.
The parties who are in the fray are National Students Union of India (NSUI), Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parisahad (ABVP), Students' Federation of India (SFI) and Indian National Students' Organisation (INSO).
NSUI had fielded Amrita Bahri, Devraj Tehlan, Manish Chaudhary and Khushboo Sharma for the posts of President, Vice President, Secretary and Joint-Secretary respectively.
The ABVP panel is Abhishek Tandon (President), Suman Lata (Vice President), Renu (Secretary) and Manvendra Singh (Joint-Secretary).
The Students' Federation of India (SFI) has fielded its candidates for two posts - Harish Dubey for Secretary and Ambika Rai for Joint Secretary.
INSO has candidates for all four positions - Mohammed Akhtar Ali (President), Samridhi Sharma (Vice-President), Dinesh (Secretary) and Rohtash Chaudhary (Joint Secretary).
Youth for Equality is also fielding two candidates - Divyanshu Asopa for Vice-President and Disha Pannu for Secretary.
