New Delhi, Sept. 7 : Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty walked down the ramp for designer Tarun Tahiliani, at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week on Thursday night, bringing the first shower of stardust to the event.
Shetty sashayed down the ramp draped in a gold gown with a diamante bustier accessorised by a crystal belt, a diamond necklace and dress shoes.
Tahiliani's collection titled "Kutch to Kenya" integrates the past with the present with ensembles in white, crŠme, black, grey and khaki and several shades of pink.
The designer's outfits are moulded to the curves of the body, bringing sensuality to simple cuts.
On choosing Shipa to wear his showstopper, Tahiliani said her personality suited the flamboyance of the gown.
"We designed especially for her. It was sculpted to her body. So, if you're going to use someone as a platform, then use it well, make it fantastic. Don't screw it up," he said.
Feroze Gujral, a former model and socialite said: "I loved it, it's so graceful, so Indian and so classic. And, I love his clothes."
Fashion designer Ranna Gill also showased her collection, but stuck to her trademark geometric patterns in beach wear and loose and flowing dresses.
"My collection is called Havana and it was very romantic, sexy and beach inspired. I had a lot of geometric and paisley prints, and a lot of white and navy blue colours," she said.
Over 70 new and established designers are revealing their latest collections at the do, and nearly a dozen new models are gracing the show.
