New Delhi, Sept 5 : The United States today announced donating one million dollars for the flood-affected people of Bihar.
This is in addition to the 50,000 dollars that the US had contributed to the Prime Minister's Relief Fund, earlier this month.
The one million dollars would be used for providing drinking water, sanitation, health and nutrition activities in Bihar, where close to 14 million people have been affected by recent flooding.
The USAID office will implement the relief work in association with the UNICEF.
Over 500 people have perished in the current spell of floods in Bihar, which affected 20 districts of the State.
Standing crops worth over Rs 7 billion in nearly 1.6 million hectares of land had been damaged, officials said.
