Tarn Taran (Punjab), Sep 30 : Pakistani Member of National Assembly (MNA) Mansoor Ansari came to India to attend the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in the Narli Village of Punjab's Tarn Taran District.
Pakistani theatre personality Madhiha Gohar also attended this function.
Speaking on the occasion, Gohar said: "It was unfortunate that the earlier Pakistani Government did not include Bhagat Singh's biography into the school curriculum."
She, however, said the government is now thinking of introducing a policy, which will help in mentioning names of such heroes in the academic curriculum.
Gohar is presently working on a play on Bhagat Singh that would be performed in Lahore in March next year.
Kawel Dhaliwal, a senior theatre artist, said that Bhagat Singh was not only the hero of the youth of that time, but even in present era the youth admires his thoughts.
"He sacrificed his life for united Hindustan, he is the real hero of the youth of India and Pakistan", Dhaliwal said.
Apart from the family members of Bhagat Singh, people from nearby villages also took part in this centenary celebration.
