Lucknow, Sept 30 : Mayawati led government in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday announced sacking of more 7,400 policemen from government service and suspended seven other IPS officers for alleged irregularities in the recruitment process carried out during Samajwadi party rule.
The seven IPS officers suspended are V K Bhalla, A D Mishra and K K Saxena, V K Agarwal, Prabhat Kumar, Malkhan Singh Yadav and G K Goswami.
The announcement was made here in a press conference.
Seventy-five officers of Provincial Police Service (PPS) have also been suspended.
