Flash floods have claimed two lives in Rajasthan.
Kota (Rajasthan), Sep 3 : Flash floods have claimed two lives in Rajasthan.
A group of revellers, enjoying the weather on the banks of the River Bhawankung, watched helplessly as two of their friends were washed away in the turbulent waters.
Dilip Kumar, a resident, jumped into the river to tried and save them, but failed. Instead he also got stuck in the swirling waters.
Jagwinder Singh, who formed part of the rescue team, said the administration showed a lack of concern for the safety of the stranded man.
"The water level increased suddenly after we came here. We called for help from the Government, asking them to send a helicopter. But nothing happened," Singh said.
The man precariously remained in the middle of the river for more than six hours till a state helicopter rescued him late on Sunday night.
