Team India arrives in Mumbai

The victorious Indian Twenty20 World Cup team led by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni today arrived at Sahar International Airport.

Mumbai, Sept. 26 : The victorious Indian Twenty20 World Cup team led by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni today arrived at Sahar International Airport.

Thousands gathered at the airport to get the first glimpse of Team India, and the prestigious Twenty20 Championship trophy.

After getting a warm welcome at the airport, the world champions boarded an open-air bus, which will take them to the Wankhede Stadium in the form of a procession. BCCI officials, fans, and many VIP dignitaries are accompanying the team.

The cavalcade is moving towards the Bandra junction.

The cavalcade will then go through Mahim before heading off towards Haji Ali, taking the Peddar road en route to Wankhede Stadium where they are scheduled to reach by 10:30 a.m. for a grand reception ceremony.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deskhmukh and his Deputy R R Patil welcomed the men in blue at the airport. Dhoni's men will also meet Kapil Dev's team who won the 1983 World Cup for India.

The event will include a felicitation ceremony, in which the BCCI will give Rs 12 crore to the team which is about Rs 80 lakh per player.
