New Delhi, Sep 24 : Residents of Taipei County, Taiwan Province, have set a Guinness World Record for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The extraordinary feat was accomplished by 3,249 residents, who simultaneously gave the kiss of life to plastic manikins.
The participants, ranging from a four-year-old girl to a 97-year-old grandma, gathered in a public square in teams of six to give simulated CPR.
The four-year-old particularly impressed onlookers with her skills in calling a first-aid hotline, pinching the nose of the dummy and helping it "breathe".
Finally, organizers announced that Taipei residents had broken the world record, created by 2,308 Austrians last year.
Videos of the activity will be mailed to the Guinness World Records office for final agreement.
