BJPs national executive meet begins today

The Bharatiya Janata Partys (BJP) three-day national executive meet will commence here today to draw a future roadmap and strategy for the party on the ongoing Sethu Samundram Project issue.

Bhopal, Sept 21 : The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) three-day national executive meet will commence here today to draw a future roadmap and strategy for the party on the ongoing Sethu Samundram Project issue.

The party will also discuss the political situation arising out of the UPA Government's growing distance from the Left parties over the Indo-US civil nuclear deal.

Issues related to Madhya Pradesh Assembly election that is slated for the next year, and political situation in Gujarat are also likely to be discussed during the meeting.

Party's spokesperson Prakash Javedekar said that the meet would also adopt two separate resolutions on the "agrarian crisis" and the "internal security issue".

The second day of the meet will be marked by a public rally to be addressed by all major leaders.

For the first time, former Prime Minister and BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee will not attend the meeting due to falling health.

Party's vice president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday said that though Vajpayee was eager to attend the meeting, doctors have advised him to avoid it because of his health problems.

The meeting is being held at Bhopal after a gap of 11 years.
