Security forces on Tuesday morning shot dead five militants in two separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmirs Bandipora District.
Bandipora (Jammu and Kashmir), Sept. 18 : Security forces on Tuesday morning shot dead five militants in two separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora District.
According to defence sources, three militants were killed when a patrol party of the 14 Rashtriya Rifles launched a search operation at Khayyar village in Bandipora.
The search operations are still in progress and, efforts are on to identify the militants, the sources added.
In another incident, two militants were killed in an encounter with a joint party of the army and local police at Sarewal forest area of Bandipora in the wee hours.
More details were awaited as the search operations were in progress.
The army on Monday evening foiled an infiltration bid in the Macchil sector of Kupwara District, gunning down three militants.
