Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who underwent a surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for benign enlargement of the prostate gland, will be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.
New Delhi, Sept 17 : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who underwent a surgery at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for benign enlargement of the prostate gland, will be discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.
According to the Chairman, Medical Expert Panel for the Prime Minister, Professor K. Srinath Reddy, Singh is "convalescing after his surgery and is doing well."
Reddy said that the Prime Minister would be discharged after completing post surgical tests tomorrow, and would return home.
The surgery took place to treat benign prostatic hypertrophy of the prostate (benign enlargement of the prostate gland).
A team of doctors led by Professor N P Gupta, head of the Department of Urology, conducted the surgery on Saturday morning.
Singh, 75, was admitted to the hospital at 6 a.m. on that day.
