Chennai, Sept 13 : The Tamil Nadu Government will provide reservation of 3.5 per cent each to Muslims and Christians candidates in jobs and educational institutes.
An ordinance in this regard will soon be promulgated, and it would come into effect from September 15 this year, which will be DMK founder and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C N Annadurai's 99th birth anniversary.
This was announced by Chief Minister, M Karunanidhi here today.
The new reservation will be carved out from the existing 30 percent reservation for Backward Class in the State.
