Mob justice came to the fore in Bihar again, when ten suspected thieves were bludgeoned to death in Vaishali District early on Thursday.
Vaishali (Bihar), Sept 13 : Mob justice came to the fore in Bihar again, when ten suspected thieves were bludgeoned to death in Vaishali District early on Thursday.
According to the police, the ten were killed on the spot, and the one person, was injured was in critical condition.
"We were planning to catch these thieves for past two months. Today, when we saw them coming, we asked them who they were and where they were going. Seeing us, they tried to flee. But the villagers surrounded them and beat them to death," said Prem Kumar, a villager.
The victims are yet to be identified.
Police said they were looking for the killers, but had made no arrests so far.
Eight incidents of theft have been reported in area in the last three months.
Recently, an angry mob in Nawada District blinded three youths because they tried to steal a motorcycle.
In another shocking incident in Bhagalpur, a man who tried to steal a necklace, was savagely beaten up by a mob. Police then tied him to a motorcycle and dragged him for some distance along the road.
