Mumbai, Sept. 12 : A special TADA court in Mumbai will begin handing over judgement copies to the 100 convicts of the 1993 Mumbai blasts case from today.
The convicts in the case will get copies of the judgement free of cost, while the 23 acquitted persons will have to pay about 24,000 rupees.
The 6,000-page judgement will cost four rupees per page. But the operative part of the judgement comes only to three pages.
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who is out on interim bail, will get the copy on September 27.
After getting a copy of the judgment, Dutt will have to surrender before police. Then, he can move a fresh application for regular bail before the Supreme Court.
Dutt was sentenced to six years of rigorous imprisonment by a TADA Court under the Arms Act for possession of arms, including an AK-56 assault rifle at the height of the 1993 communal riots in Mumbai.
Altogether 257 persons were killed and 713 injured on March 12, 1993 when bombs exploded at 13 places in Mumbai, including Bombay Stock Exchange, Air-India building, hotels Sea Rock and Juhu Centaur.
