Police in Bangalore have seized counterfeit mobile phones worth over 88,000 dollars after arresting four shopkeepers.

Bangalore, Sept. 11 : Police in Bangalore have seized counterfeit mobile phones worth over 88,000 dollars after arresting four shopkeepers.

The fake handsets and accessories were being sold at Gandhinagar's old Burma Bazaar, the New Hong Kong Bazaar and other markets across the city.

The seizure included 90 handsets, batteries, cases and accessories.

Bangalore's Police Commissioner Achutha Rao said further investigations are on to trace the origins of the racket.

Police said two other suspects are on the run.
