After months of bickering with the BJP, working President of the Shiv Sena, Uddhav Thackeray today said that all differences between the two parties have been ironed out.
New Delhi, Sept 11: After months of bickering with the BJP, working President of the Shiv Sena, Uddhav Thackeray today said that all differences between the two parties have been ironed out.
"There is no problem with the coalition, all the differences are ironed out," Uddhav told reporters after he met top leaders of BJP in the national capital.
Uddhav today met BJP President Rajnath Singh and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani.
Speaking about Sena's decision to support Congress-Left UPA candidate Pratibha Patil during the recent Presidential polls, Uddhav said, "It was a matter of pride for Maharashtra, so we decided to vote for Patil."
"Now we have reached to an understanding and the coalition is up and running," he added.
The long-standing alliance of Shiv Sena and the BJP ran into a rough weather during the presidential polls, after Sena decided to vote in favour of Patil instead of BJP-supported candidate Bhairon Singh Shekhawat. On asked whether Sena was mulling any plan to have alliance with Sharad Pawar led National Congress Party (NCP), Uddhav said, "If Pawar joins the NDA only then we will consider any alliance."
BJP Maharashtra state unit leaders Nitin Gadkari and Gopinath Munde were also present at Uddhav's press conference.
