New Delhi, Sept 10 : Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today conferred Lalit Kala Ratna on 13 eminent artists.
Bal Chhabda (Maharashtra), B N Arya (UP), Devi Prasad (New Delhi), Dinkar Kowshik (West Bengal), K Rajaiah (AP), Kekoo Gandhy (Mumbai), Krishna Reddy (New York), L Munuswamy (Tamil Nadu), Laxman Pai (Delhi), M V Krishnan (Kerala), Piraji Sagara (Gujarat), P N Choyal (Rajasthan) and Sobha Brahma (Assam), were among those honoured.
The Lalit Kala Akademi (National Academy of Art), New Delhi conferred the awards at a glittering function, presided over by Culture and Tourism Minister Ambika Soni.
A portfolio containing the works of the honoured artists was also released on the occasion.
Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia presented a flute recital on the occasion.
