Guwahati, Sep 1 : At least two people were killed and twelve others were injured in a bomb blast that took place in a crowded market here today.
The injured have been admitted to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital where conditions of three victims are stated to be critical.
The bomb that exploded inside a three-wheeler triggered the blast of gas cylinders placed in a nearby shop.
"The auto-van was badly damaged and a gas cylinder nearby also burst on the impact of the blast," a senior police official said.
Though the kind of explosives used in the bomb have not been ascertained, and no militant group has claimed responsibility, it is being alleged that the blast has been carried out by the rebel United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA).
