Visiting Commander of Lesothos Defence Forces, Lieutenant General E T Motanyane, will be visiting the Northern Command of the Indian Army and training schools.

New Delhi, Oct 9 : Visiting Commander of Lesotho's Defence Forces, Lieutenant General E T Motanyane, will be visiting the Northern Command of the Indian Army and training schools.

Lt Gen Motanyane, who is on a five-day visit to India, today met Chief of Indian Army General Deepak Kapoor, Defence Secretary Vijay Singh and other senior officials of Defence Ministry and held discussions on enhancing defence cooperation in the fields of training courses, sports and adventure activities.

In recent years, there has been enhanced cooperation in defence ties between India and Lesotho with both sides enhancing exchanges of observers in exercises and bilateral visits. The defence cooperation between the two countries got a boost after signing of a MoU on Establishment of Training Team in 2001. Since then, the Indian Army Training Team is providing quality training to Lesotho Defence Forces and also provides valuable advice to them on various security related issues.

Lt Gen Motanyane is returning back to Lesotho on October 12.
