New Delhi, Oct 9 : The Union Cabinet today approved the recommendation of President's rule sent by the State Governor, Rameshwar Thakur as no party was in a capacity to form the next government.
The imposition of President's rule in the State comes after three years coalition rule, first by Congress-JD (S) coalition followed by JD (S)-BJP alliance.
On Monday, the Governor recommended the imposition of Central rule in the State and dissolution of the State Assembly after Chief Minister Kumaraswamy resigned and a last ditch effort by the JD (S) to revive its twenty-month old coalition with the BJP failed.
While both the BJP and the JD (S) had demanded fresh elections in the State, the Congress had demanded the president's rule in the State.
