At least eight persons, including women and children, were crushed to death in Badarpur area of south Delhi when a Blue Line bus rammed into a bus stand on Sunday morning.
New Delhi, Oct 7 : At least eight persons, including women and children, were crushed to death in Badarpur area of south Delhi when a Blue Line bus rammed into a bus stand on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at Mathura Road, at Alipur turning, near the Apollo Hospital.
The victims were waiting at the bus stand to board a DTC bus when the private bus plying on route number 460 suddenly took a left turn to overtake the stationed DTC bus.
According to police sources, around eight people died on the spot, while 15 others were injured, who have admitted to a hospital.
Keeping in mind the tense situation following the incident, additional police forces from nearby police stations have been called up.
Sources said that while the driver, who reportedly was in inebriated condition, was caught, the conductor and the helper managed to escape.
