An Army personnel and two militants were killed in a gun-battle in Jammu and Kashmirs Bandipore District today.
Srinagar, Oct 4 : An Army personnel and two militants were killed in a gun-battle in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipore District today.
Acting on specific information that militants were hiding in Gamroo village of Bandipore, a joint operation by the state police and the army was launched, SSP Baramulla, Viplav Kumar said.
The militants, who were hiding in the house, were killed in the encounter.
Initial investigation shows that the duo belonged to the Lashkar-e-Toiba, he said.
A JCO (Junior Commissioned Officer) of 10-Parar regiment was killed in the encounter, Kumar said.
Two AK rifles, six magazines, two pouches, 106 rounds and two hand grenades were recovered from the site.
