By Ravinder Singh RobinAmritsar, Oct 30 : Bhawna, the youngest BJP councillor of Punjab, could be a role model for many of her senior. She has been working hard to eradicate drug abuse among the youth of her constituency.
Twenty one-year-old Bhawna, a second-year student of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), won the seat from ward number 61.
"Politics does seem to be a middle-aged man's world. If chance is given to the young's the result would be better," she said.
She never thought of joining politics but it was the faith and determination to work for the welfare for the people especially for the youth who made it possible for her to bring her to politics.
"The public are glad to have a young person in their community who is willing to get involved and stand up for what they believe in. To be a politician is a big responsibility. I would perform my duties with complete honesty", she added.
Talking about her future plans, she said that she will continue with politics besides completing her education.
Expressing her views about the women in politics, she said, "Women have made their mark in every field. The renowned women politicians like Sushma Sawraj, Sheila Dikshit have proved their skills in politics."
