Just a day after the BJP and the JD (S) joined hands with the latter agreeing to allow the saffron party to lead the next Government in the State, its key MLA on Sunday revolted against the party supremo H D Deve Gowda.

Bangalore, Oct 28 : Just a day after the BJP and the JD (S) joined hands with the latter agreeing to allow the saffron party to lead the next Government in the State, its key MLA on Sunday revolted against the party supremo H D Deve Gowda.
Revolting against his part, former Deputy Chief Minister MP Prakash has said that the support letter submitted by the JD (S) leadership to the Governor in support of the formation of the BJP-led government is "invalid and illegal".
Prakash, who is a powerful Lingayat leader, has alleged that the JD (S) legislative party meeting was not held before former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy submitted the support letter to the Governor.
Prakash had played the role of his party's points-man for talks with the Congress in recent weeks, and is reportedly miffed over by the sudden decision taken by Kumaraswamy to realign with the BJP after a bitter public fallout with the saffron party.
He claims that he has the support of 31 JD (S) MLAs. he sudden turmoil in JD (S) has led Kumaraswamy to send his 40 legislators to a resort in the outskirts of the city so that they could not be 'poached' by the Congress.
Kumaraswamy is also planning to parade his JD (S) MLAs in front of the Governor on Monday along with BJP leader and Chief Ministerial candidate BS Yediyurappa.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha, who is also in-charge of Karnataka, arrived here today and met Governor Rameshwar Thakur.
He reportedly apprised him of the situation.
Another senior leader of the BJP, M Venkaiah Naidu also held consultations with legal experts and other State leaders to find ways to form the next government, as President's rule has been imposed in the State and the State Assembly has been kept in suspended animation.
The Congress, which has second largest number of MLAs after the BJP, is closely watching the evolving situation.
On Saturday, Kumaraswamy had blamed the Congress for engineering a split in his party that led him to join hands with the BJP.
