-- Xerox Corporation President Ursula Burns discusses industry trends fueling digital growth.
-- Seven Xerox digital production systems running on show floor, including Xerox's flagship iGen3 color digital press - featured for the first time in India.
-- Through Xerox technology, services and software, print providers learn how to grow their business.
Xerox Corporation, the founder and leader of the digital production industry, is demonstrating its technological strength with a wide range of high-powered color and black-and-white digital printing systems at IPEX South Asia 2007, the first trade exhibition designed for the South Asian printing market. Xerox's key message for the show - 'Think Digital, Think Xerox' - sets the stage for attendees to learn how Xerox can help them expand their businesses and profit from growth opportunities with digital printing.
At its 495-square-meter booth - the largest at IPEX South Asia - Xerox is showing how technology can help commercial printers succeed in the burgeoning Indian digital printing market, which Xerox India estimates to be valued at US$504 million for 2006. This is the first time the company is displaying its flagship iGen3® Digital Production Press in a public venue in India. The iGen3® prints at 110 full-color pages per minute, a speed unmatched by any other cut-sheet digital press available in the country.
Ursula Burns, president of Xerox Corporation, will be at IPEX South Asia to meet the Indian printing community and regional industry leaders. She will discuss how Xerox product innovation drives success for print providers in what Xerox calls "The New Business of Printing®." With the right business model, the right workflow and the right technology, advancements in digital technology are creating significant opportunities for print providers to grow their businesses through more personalized, on-demand printing, according to Burns.
According to a report by Pira International, the worldwide print market was estimated to be worth US$601 billion in 2006, and the fastest growing segments of the market are digital printing, which Pira says are increasing at double-digit rates versus a market average of 2.5 percent. Pira also says the Indian printing market alone is expected to climb from US$12.6 billion in 2006 to $25.1 billion by 2012. Digital printing in India is expanding even more rapidly. Xerox India calculates that the Indian digital printing market will grow from US$504 million in 2006 to as much as US$2.5 billion by 2012.
"Xerox has invested in partnering with the Indian print industry for a long time, and now the adoption of digital printing technology is accelerating," said Andrew Horne, managing director of Xerox India. "We continue to work closely with the commercial printer community to explain how digital printing applications complement offset printing - and Indian print providers are responding. They are rapidly embracing the technology and business support that Xerox is delivering in India and throughout the world. Together, we're revolutionizing the digital print industry in India."
"Xerox has been at the forefront, bringing the industry's best and broadest portfolio of technology and revenue-generating applications to the market," said Vipin Tuteja, executive director, Production Systems Group, Xerox India. "With our flagship Xerox iGen3® digital production press on display for the first time in India, we have gone a step ahead to reinforce our commitment to the Indian market. Through IPEX South Asia, Xerox will work to build a stronger association with the brand, our customers, commercial printers and the printing fraternity at large."
On Display
At its booth, located at Hall No. 1 - A27, Xerox is demonstrating an array of digital print systems that increase print speed, deliver vibrant color, streamline production and improve print image quality - from light production to high volume - to drive efficient production of direct-mail pieces, books and manuals, customized marketing collaterals and professional digital books and photo books.
Several Xerox products are on display for the first time in India. In addition to the Xerox iGen3® digital press, some of the other products include: Xerox Nuvera® 288 Digital Perfecting System, a dual-print engine design that sets a new speed record for duplex black-and-white cut-sheet printing systems; Xerox DocuColor® 8000AP, which enables print providers to tackle a broader range of applications regardless of the paper weight or media type running through the system; and Xerox 495™ Continuous Feed Duplex Printer, an entry-level continuous-feed system with a unique small-footprint design.
Xerox Premier Partners, a global community
Among the Xerox India customers who are growing their businesses with Xerox digital technology are four members of Xerox Premier Partners, a global community of more than 650 leading digital communications services providers. These are:
-- Seshasai, a leading commercial printer, based in Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai, was the first company in India to install the Xerox iGen3® press, which it is using to produce segmented direct marketing communications, trans promotional, transactional statements, personalized photo books, calendars, greeting cards and playing cards.
-- Perfact Color Digital Prints, a commercial print operation based in Delhi and Gurgaon, is using Xerox iGen3®, Nuvera 288, DocuColor 5252 and DC260 systems to produce personalized communication such as invoices, insurance policies, short-run books, indoor posters, signage, and maps and various other applications.
-- Dynamic Softlink, based in Surat, develops modeling photocards using an innovative proprietary software technology called DrapeShop™ for textile houses across India with its two DocuColor 5252 Digital Color presses.
-- Bhavish Graphics, which is based in Chennai, recently demonstrated its leadership by earning an honorable mention at the Printing Innovation with Xerox Imaging (PIXI) awards, a global competition that recognizes innovation and excellence in digital printing applications. The company developed software that dramatically reduced the number and complexity of invoices for customers of BSNL, a major telecom service provider. Using Xerox DocuPrint® technology, Bhavish Graphics helped BSNL print and distribute invoices in one day instead of more than week, which generated additional revenue by prompting quicker payment from customers.
