New Delhi, Oct 2 : President Pratibha Patil today said that female foeticide is prevalent not only in educationally backward strata of the society, but is also prevalent among well educated.
"Pre-birth elimination of the female child after sex selection is prevalent even amongst the educated and therefore the problem is not only due to lack of education," Pratibha Patil said during launch of the "Save the Girl Child" campaign at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
She emphasized that the girl child is not a curse, but a boon to the society and family.
