Telsima Corporation, a leading developer and supplier of carrier class Digital Circuit Multiplication Equipment (DCME) and a global leader in WiMAX systems, today announced multimillion dollar contracts with Tier I operators, Telefonica in Latin America and Vodacom in Africa. The contracts are for the supply of TelsiNex™ DCME which substantially increases the capacity of toll-grade voice calls over circuit switched networks such as Long Distance International network connections and GSM networks.

The TelsiNex range of products, manufactured at Telsima's Bangalore facility, use Telsima's own DSP chip TXS-1000, which has sold over 5 million ports worldwide. TelsiNex can carry 16 E1s on one E1 bearer with excellent voice quality helps network operators reduce their investment on their backhaul transmission networks in a short time.
The company recently announced its full spectrum of IEEE 802.16e-2005 compliant, standards based Mobile WiMAX products for end-to-end Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) networks. Winner of the Best of WiMAX World Digital Cities deployment in 2007, Telsima also announced that based on its earlier contracts with Tier 1 telecom service providers, it will be shipping 10,000 WiMAX base station sectors and 100,000 WiMAX subscriber stations in 2007.
