At least one person has been reportedly killed in a blast at the shrine of Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer on Thursday evening.
Ajmer (Rajasthan), Oct 11 : At least one person has been reportedly killed in a blast at the shrine of Khawaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer on Thursday evening.
Eight others are reported to have been injured in the blast, which has been termed as a terror attack by the Union Home Ministry.
The blast occurred when people were readying themselves to break their daylong fast that are observed during the holy month of Ramzan by Muslims.
There were approximately 5000 people in the shrine at the time of blast.
The injured have been rushed to the nearby hospital.
Preliminary reports indicate that the blast material had been placed under a tree inside the Dargah.
The area has been cordoned off by the police.
Meanwhile, the police officials in Rajasthan have convened a high level emergency meeting.
A high alert has also been sounded in Delhi.
