Defence Minister A K Antony today said that minimising human failures remains the greatest challenge in the aviation sector to reduce accidents in air.
New Delhi, Oct 10 : Defence Minister A K Antony today said that minimising human failures remains the greatest challenge in the aviation sector to reduce accidents in air.
Stating that number of accidents in the Indian Air Force has gone down in last three years, Antony said, "The emphasis will increasingly be on the ability of the personnel to handle multi-tasking effectively."
He made these remarks at the International Flight Safety Conference here today.
Antony said that the expansion of civil aviation activities has led to new challenges in ground and air space management, including the commonality of languages and procedures.
"Aviation safety is today being treated as a management function, concentrating more on humans than on machines. Aviation organisations are accepting new programmes and fine-tuning them to meet their requirements," he added.
