The Central Government today launched the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana or the Health insurance scheme for below poverty line (BPL) families.
New Delhi, Oct 1 : The Central Government today launched the Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana or the Health insurance scheme for below poverty line (BPL) families.
The Centre will contribute 75 per cent of the annual premium and the State its 25 percent.
The scheme provides for a benefit of upto Rs 30,000 to all BPL workers.
A comprehensive Bill has already been introduced in the parliament.
Besides, the Aam Adami Bima Yojana is scheduled to be launched on October 2 and the National Old Age Pension Scheme on November 19.
