Hyderabad, November 06....: Now students of MBBS will have digitised medical education which is termed as revolution in Medical Education. This is the only of its kind in the country. There is a digital divide exists between Medical and other curriculums such as Management and Engineering. While IIM and IIT education has become hi-tech using Information Technology, Medical Education lags behind. Though India is a IT savvy country, but, tomorrows physicians are taught today's medical education with yesterdays teaching methods. Further adding insult to injury, the 30 to 40% shortage of faculty in medical education affects students a lot.

Digitization of Curriculum changes the face of Medical Education in the country. It offers lot of benefits to the students. Those students who are slow learners, can listen to lessons at their own pace and repeatedly. Learn any topic from India's best faculty. It enables to standardize medical education in the country. It is a self paced learning. Medical Students can view, review, pause, skip, repeat and book mark all at their convenience. It will not replace face to face class room teaching. But, goes as supplementary to the faculty's efforts. It is interactive. Weaker students can take tutorial several times.

University has the benefit of state of the art infrastructure creation at all medical colleges under the health university. This method assures standardization of teaching content across the colleges. Also helps all affiliate colleges to be on par with the best campuses around the world. It is also one of the ways to counter shortage of teachers in the medical colleges, informed Dr. Neeraj Raj. With digitization using 2D and 3D animation complex things in medical educatino can be made to understand easily. The module was installed on the occasion of 20th Anniversary of the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences on 1st November at Vijayawada.
