Deputy Election Commissioner R Balakrishnan is visiting Himachal Pradesh today to review the poll preparedness in three tribal Assembly constituencies that will go for voting on November 14.

New Delhi, Nov 4 : Deputy Election Commissioner R Balakrishnan is visiting Himachal Pradesh today to review the poll preparedness in three tribal Assembly constituencies that will go for voting on November 14.

According to sources, Balakrishnan will be accompanied by State Chief Electoral Officer Manisah Nanda while inspecting the ST seats of Kinnaur, Bharmour and Lahaul-Spiti.

Balakrishnan will also meet the returning officers of the three constituencies, they added.

Sources went on to say that the polling materials were dispatched today to the three tribal seats.

The voting for the 68-member State Assembly polls will take place on November 14 and December 19.

The electoral process for three seats undergoing polls during the first phase began on October 20 and for second phase it will begin on November 23. Counting of votes will take place on December 28.

The term of the current State Assembly is till March 9, 2008.
