The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today gave its approval to the revised proposal from Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) for providing quality services to Tax-payers and other stakeholders by consolidating its information technology infrastructure.
New Delhi, Nov 30 : The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs today gave its approval to the revised proposal from Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) for providing quality services to Tax-payers and other stakeholders by consolidating its information technology infrastructure.
These services include implementation of the Customs EDI system to a total of 162 locations and introduction of an electronic workflow based system in Central Excise and Service Tax covering all Central Excise and Service Tax Offices.
The approval entails an outlay of Rs.598.97 crore over a period of five year period, includes creation of data center facilities, wide area network connecting 582 buildings and computing facilities at 1200 offices, a government release said.
