The special plane Boeing777 carrying former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members from the holy city of Medina in Saudi Arabia landed at the Lahore airport on Sunday evening.

Lahore, Nov 25 : The special plane Boeing777 carrying former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family members from the holy city of Medina in Saudi Arabia landed at the Lahore airport on Sunday evening.

Sharif is accompanied with his wife Kulsoom, brother Shahbaz Sharif and other family members.

A large number of PML-N supporters thronged the airport to give a warm welcome to their leader. Large welcome banners and pictures of the Sharif brothers have been displayed at several places in Lahore.

Sharif is expected to first visit Data Darba in a procession and address a public meeting there.

Security has been tightened in Lahore especially in the area near the airport.

Meanwhile, sources said that bullet-proof cars for the Sharifs reached in Lahore last night from Saudi Arabia.

The home department was quoted by The News as saying that the authorities have decided to give free hand to Nawaz, but he has not been permitted for holding a public meeting and rally.

Nawaz, Shahbaz and other family members will be transported to home from the airport, according to a home department statement.
