Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists took out a massive rally here today during a 12- hour shutdown in the city to protest against the murder of a regional party leader, Anand Kashyap.
Ranchi (Jharkhand), Nov 20 : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists took out a massive rally here today during a 12- hour shutdown in the city to protest against the murder of a regional party leader, Anand Kashyap.
Led by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda, BJP activists gathered in front of a statue of Mahatma Gandhi and sat on protest with their mouths covered with strips of black cloth before being taken away by the police.
Munda criticised and accused the ruling government of turning a blind eye to the murder of political leaders.
"Political murders are taking place in the state regularly and the government is asleep. They are instead organizing music and dance events while people are being murdered," Munda said.
Kashyap, a leader of the BJP tribal front in Jharkhand, was shot dead by two unidentified assailants on Monday.
