Hyderabad, November 19...: Lodge Deccan No. 20, one of the primary units of Grand Lodge of India(Indian Freemasonry) organsied Masonic Quiz here in city at its Goshamahal Baradari Masonic Temple on Sunday night. This is the 22nd year of the quiz whoich was started in the year 1985. It is conducted every year in the month of November on third sunday.
Lodge Model emerged Winner and Lodge Morland as Runner up. Lodge Keys No. 297 stood third position. Model team comprised of Sagar Gala and Sidharth. Moreland team comprised of M. Vinod Ganesh and Lodge Keys Praful Sahgal and P.S. Chiranjeevi.
The objective of the Quiz according to Worshipful Brother and Historian Y.M. Lele of Deccan Lodge is to further the masonic knowledge among its members. The quiz questions were based on Masonic Rituals and Costitution. There were all together 7 rounds viz Warm Up Round, Rapid Fire Round, Book of Constitution Round, Basic Rituals Round, Advanced Rituals Round, Demonstration Round and Identificatin Round etc.
Worshipful Brother V.L Narayan was quiz master and Worshipful Brother Nataraj was scorer for the quiz.
The Masonic Quiz is conducted every year for the past twenty two years. Masonic Quiz is the brainchild of Lodge Deccan. Lodge Morland, Lodge Secunderabad, Lodge Keys and Lodge Model competed in the final. Each team comprised of two masonic members of various lodges in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The winner of the Quiz Competition will be awarded a trophy during an installation meeting of Lodge Deccan in the month of January, 2008.
