Few days to go for Children's Day, the members of Lodge Keys No. 297, a local wing of Internationally well known Freemasonry organisation and their family members made this Sunday 11th a little difference to 67 underprevileged children from Hyderbad Council of Human Welfare and Govt Boys Hostel for Handicapped.
Hyderabad, November 12.....: Few days to go for Children's Day, the members of Lodge Keys No. 297, a local wing of Internationally well known Freemasonry organisation and their family members made this Sunday 11th a little difference to 67 underprevileged children from Hyderbad Council of Human Welfare and Govt Boys Hostel for Handicapped. For a change they took them the luxury of Shahrukh Khan starrer OM SHANTI OM picture at Vijeatha Theatre in Borabanda.
Disclosing this Master of Lodge Keys No. 297 D.Ramchandram informed that the Forty Street Children from Hyderabad Council of Human Welfare from Alkapuri and twenty seven physically challanged children from Govt Boys Hostel for Handicapped from Nalgonda Cross Roads were picked up in two luxury coaches to the film and treated royally. Attired in their Sunday best dress some with slippers and many without them, these 67 children together with the 35 members, their spouses and children of Lodge Keys watched the film and enjoyed. The children got a well deserved break from their routine lives and were entertained by freemasons members as well.
First we thrilled at the luxry bus, as we have never travelled in such buses. Next, the previlege of watching the new movie along with members of Freemasonry and their families. This is a wonderful occasion i will never forget in my life said Narender a boy who is handicapped of both the hands.
It was a touching moment to see a young physically challenged boy feeding chips to yet another physically challenged without two hands friend of his seated next to him. And also helping him drink a softdrink. There could never be a more memorable occasion than this said Mrs. Sunitha spouse of Veerabhadrudu a member of Lodge Keys No. 297.
The children who spoke at brief meeting held immediately after the show thanked the organisers and requested them to organise such pleasure giving activities occasionlly. The members also promised to take up more such programs in near future including providing entertainment to jail inmates, antakshari for senior citizes in the home for the aged etc.
We could see joy on their faces. For three hours children could forget everything and had the pleasure of watching a premier movie within few days after its release. Rs 13, 500/- the cost of the project is born by the members of Freemasonry.
Enthused by the overwhelming response from among our members, we would like to repeatedly take up such heart touching projects in near future, informed D.Ramchandram.
