Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will today file his nomination for the biennial elections for the Rajya Sabha seat in Assam, as his term expires on June 14.
Guwahati, May 8 : Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will today file his nomination for the biennial elections for the Rajya Sabha seat in Assam, as his term expires on June 14.
Election for the Upper House seat will be held on May 24.
Dr. Singh has been representing Assam in the Rajya Sabha for the last three terms.
The Election Commission had issued the notification on April 30, and stated that elections for the Rajya Sabha seat from Assam held by Indramoni Bora would also be held on the same day.The last day for the filing the nominations is May 14 and the counting of votes will take place on the day of polling.
