15 injured in Guwahati blast

At least 15 people were injured in a bomb blast at a crowded marketplace here on Sunday evening.

Guwahati, May 7 : At least 15 people were injured in a bomb blast at a crowded marketplace here on Sunday evening.

The bomb hidden in a motorcycle exploded in Guwahati's Fancy Bazar area, police said.

Police are suspecting hand of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) rebels behind the attack.

The wounded were rushed to a nearby hospital.

"The blast was so big that I rushed out of my house. Splinters also came inside my room. We do not know who left the bike, but the person who left it there did all in five minutes," said Nirmal Sharma.

Mayur Kulkarni, another witness to the blast, said: "We had just entered the temple when there was a huge blast. The blast took place in a bike".

Several vehicles were also damaged by the blast.
