The All India Minorities Front (AIMF) has decided to contest all the 40 seats for the Goa assembly elections

New Delhi, May 7 : The All India Minorities' Front (AIMF) has decided to contest all the 40 seats for the Goa assembly elections

Announcing this here today, AIMF president S M Asif said that he was overwhelmed by the response that his candidates received in the ongoing assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and hence due to the repeated request from the minority community in Goa, the forum has decided to field its own candidates in the State.

"Major political parties have lost confidence of the people. The people are looking for an alternative to safeguard their interest. The minorities are disenchanted with the so-called national and regional parties," Asif said.

A meeting of the representatives of the AIMF from various States in Delhi on May 12 will review its performance in the UP polls and will also endorse the decision to contest all the seats of the Goa assembly.
