Two kilogram of RDX and other materials supposedly meant for militants to carry out terrorist activities were recovered from a bus near Lakhanpur town in Jammu bordering Punjab.

Jammu, May 5 : Two kilogram of RDX and other materials supposedly meant for militants to carry out terrorist activities were recovered from a bus near Lakhanpur town in Jammu bordering Punjab.

Acting on specific information, police intercepted a bus plying from Ludhiana to Jammu near Lakhanpur and recovered an unclaimed bag of explosives.

Two kilograms of RDX, a battery, a detonator, a transformer, four VCD's, maps, some airline tickets were found in the bag, according to official sources.

The passengers reportedly informed the police that a middle-aged man had boarded the bus in Lakhanpur but moved out after some time, leaving the bag in the bus.

The explosives were probably meant for insurgents in Jammu for carrying out terrorist activities in the state while the VCD's contained militant propaganda material.

No arrest has been made in this connection so far.
