Congress party president Sonia Gandhi will share the stage with her son Rahul Gandhi during campaigning for the ongoing Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls today.

Lucknow, May 5 : Congress party president Sonia Gandhi will share the stage with her son Rahul Gandhi during campaigning for the ongoing Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls today.

For the first time in the ongoing elections, the two members of the Gandhi-Nehru clan will address public rallies in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj District where polling will be held on May 8.

The record seven-phase assembly polls will come to an end on Tuesday with the final phase of the polling for 59 assembly segments.

Major leaders whose fate will be decided in the final phase are Ambika Chaudhary, Harishankar Tiwari, Mukhtar Ansari and Akhilesh Pratap Singh.

Counting of votes is due on May 11 and results are expected on the same day.
