Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel shall receive the inaugural flight of the national carrier Indian from Delhi to Surat in Gujarat on May 6.
New Delhi, May 4 : Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel shall receive the inaugural flight of the national carrier Indian from Delhi to Surat in Gujarat on May 6.
He will also flag off the inaugural flight from Surat to Delhi on the same day.
This will be Surat's first air link to New Delhi.
Indian will also be the first carrier to provide air connectivity to this city after a long time. The new flight will operate with brand new Airbus A-319, offering seats in both Executive and Economy classes. It will operate on daily basis.
Meanwhile the Airports Authority of India has upgraded the Surat Airport for operations of wide-bodied aircraft like B-737-800, AB321 keeping in view the overall growth of the aviation in the domestic sector and the increased traffic flow. This is being done at a cost of Rs. 68.81 crore.
