The Kerala Police today registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Health Minister PK Sreemathi.

Thiruvananthapuram, May 4 : The Kerala Police today registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Health Minister PK Sreemathi.

The Police registered the case after it received a court order following the death of babies at the state run hospital in the city.

At least 38 newborn babies reportedly died over a month at the Sree Avittam Tirunal (SAT) Hospital.

Chief Judicial Magistrate S Soman on Thursday asked the police to take up the case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) read with Section 34 (common objective).

The names of two SAT doctors, nursing superintendent and labour room assistants are also included in the FIR.
