A meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs was held here today to discuss issues relating to the Draft National Policy on Criminal Justice.
New Delhi, May 4 : A meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Home Affairs was held here today to discuss issues relating to the Draft National Policy on Criminal Justice.
The meeting, which was presided over by Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, took note of the suggestions offered by some of the members during the meeting.
The Drafting Committee of National Criminal Justice Policy will take into account these suggestions while finalizing the draft policy paper.
The members present at today's meeting included Rajya Sabha member Dr. P.C. Alexander and Nikhil Kumar, Mohanbhai Delkar and Sarbananda Sonowal of the Lok Sabha. The Ministers of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal and S. Regupathy and the Union Home Secretary, Madhukar Gupta were also present in the meeting.
