New Delhi, May 30 : The Parliamentary Committee for examining the Gram Nyayalayas Bill, 2007 has invited views and suggestions from the public and organisations in this regard.

The Bill seeks to provide for establishment of the Gram Nyayalayas for the purposes of providing access to justice, both civil and criminal, to the citizens at the grassroots level and to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizen by the reasons of social, economic or other limitations.

The Gram Nyayalayas Bill, 2007, introduced in the Rajya Sabha on May 15 and pending therein, has been referred to the Department Related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice, headed by Dr. EM Sudarsana Natchiappan for examination and report.

Interested persons can send their memoranda to the Committee, which would form part of its records and would be treated as confidential. It would not be circulated to anyone, as any act contrary thereto would constitute a breach of privilege of the Committee.
