National conference on Affordable Housing for All from June 1

A two-day national conference on Affordable Housing for All will be held in Mumbai from June 1.

New Delhi, May 30 : A two-day national conference on "Affordable Housing for All" will be held in Mumbai from June 1.

This will provide an opportunity to the delegates to suggests measures and recommend suitable financing interventions consistent with the objective of affordable housing.

The conference will also provide a platform to the financing institutions, to come together and share their knowledge, experience and views.

They will review the status of housing finance extended by the banks and the housing finance institutions in the country.

The conference is being organised by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry and the Maharashtra Government.

Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Housing And Urban Poverty Alleviation Kumari Selja will address the inaugural session, Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh will be the Chief Guest and the Minister of State for Finance Pawan Kumar Bansal will be the Guest of Honour.

A plenary session on 'Legislation and Policy Reforms', will be chaired by Kumari Selja. There will be four parallel sessions on 'Land Availability and Use', Finance, Innovative Technologies and Social Housing.

Selja and Deshmukh will also address the valedictory session.

The Conference will be attended by over 800 delegates from real estate developers, builders, NGOs, civil society, financial institutions, and government representatives both from the Centre and States.
