A major breach of security was reported outside the Prime Minister's official residence on Thursday afternoon when a shoot out took place near Manmohan Singh's 7 Race Course Road house here.
New Delhi, May 3 : A major breach of security was reported outside the Prime Minister's official residence on Thursday afternoon when a shoot out took place near Manmohan Singh's 7 Race Course Road house here.
One person, identified as Kishori Lal, a resident of Dwarka area of the Capital, was injured in the firing. He has been admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
Meanwhile, security agencies have cordoned off the area and were investigating the incident.
According to Delhi Police, initial reports suggested that the firing had no connection with the Prime Minister and there was no threat to him.
The shootout is believed to have taken place following an altercation between two groups of people due to some personal feud.
About four rounds were fired at a point blank range. Police has recovered the gun used in the firing. A Maruti Zen car bearing registration number DL9CK0730 was also reportedly recovered from the spot.
