People of Kanpur today came on the street to protest against the death of schoolboy in a schools swimming pool.

Kanpur, May 29 : People of Kanpur today came on the street to protest against the death of schoolboy in a school's swimming pool.

Enraged family members of Sixteen-year-old, Raunak Gupta who drowned in the swimming pool of Virendra Swarup Public School, gathered at the school premises along with other parents and demanded immediate action against the school authorities and the swimming instructors.

"After the incident the school management did not for once try to get in touch with us. The coach on duty has still not been arrested; he should be immediately arrested. This school administration should also be punished," said Rakesh Gupta, father of the boy.

Raunak was undergoing a summer camp organised by the school. After the swimming season, his body was found floating in the pool.

Police has ordered a second post-mortem of the body.

"The parents were not satisfied with the first post-mortem report, hence a panel of three doctors was constituted and they have submitted their report, which is different form the first post-mortem report," B. K. Gupta, the Station House Officer said.

"We are investigating on the basis of the complaint registered by the family, the coach and the other instructors who were supposed to be there will be arrested," Gupta added.
